Is this even possible? I thought wood never shrink lengthwise...

I got this Pau Ferro fingerboard from a supplier, and the fingerboard arrived like this. I can't use it as fingerboard, perhaps I can use it as bridge blanks (it seems quite thick) because the curve makes it impossible for me to plane it.

Is it possible to recover this fingerboard? In case you're asking I've already contacted the supplier regarding this...

I wouldn't really order things like that, except the kind of woods available in Taiwan tends to be limited, hence the need to order stuff every now and then.

Just wondering, has anyone made an acoustic guitar with maple fingerboard?

It's just drier on the concave side. Wet that side and clamp it down or place a weight on it. Leave it dry for a few weeks and keep flipping it over every couple of days.
I think it will be fine.

I don't think using it would be a problem. You will want to flatten it out as much as you can for slotting, inlaying etc, as Bob and others suggested. All wood is subject to movement from humidity. Once it's glued down no problems
